After the president
welcomes addresses, a short view of last year competition was shooting and the EYPDEVP
Quiz team read the rules and regulation for the quiz to the schools and urged the
participant to pay attention to instructions. The instructions and questions
were packaged together and projected to the view of the participants with no
human intervention. The entire processes was programmed and executed as
programmed. At the end of the competition, the first place position goes to Suleiman O. Halimat, the second place position
goes to Oche Micheal and third place position goes to Usman Abdulmuliku. From the summation of individual performance, Suleiman O. Halimat and Oche Micheal combined
scores was the highest score and Government
Day Secondary School Iruvecheba emerged the winning school.

2013 EYPDEVP ICT BASED INTER SCHOOL QUIZ COMPETITION
The 2013
edition of EYPDEVP ICT BASED Inter School Quiz Competition took place in Ebira
Community Secondary School, Ogaminana Kogi State on Friday, 28th June, 2013.
The event featured questions from English, Mathematics and General knowledge. The
participants for the quiz competition were from five schools, the HOPE TEAM schools.
Each of the five schools was represented by the two beneficiary students for
the quiz competition except one among the schools that couldn’t make it. The schools
and their representative are: Government Girls Secondary School, Otutu Okene
represented by Medinat Audu and Andahs Yufus, Ebira Community Secondary School
Ogaminana represented by Abakura Abdullahi F. and Babatunde Justina, Gov’t Day
Secondary School Okunchi represented by Simpa S. Ibrahim and Sunday Oyiza
Rekiyat and Okehi Community Secondary School Uboro represented by Balogun Anna
and Gimat Sabdat. Both Moh’d Abdulrashid
and Abdulsalam Hanatu who suppose to represent Okengwe Community Secondary
School Arigo were absent.
The competition
commenced around 11am with an opening prayer followed by National Anthem. EYPDEVP’s
Project manager, Lamidi Abdulrahman Abe
who handled the mic welcome everybody, the organizer, the guest, the Representative of various schools, students and the member
of the press. He called
the EYE Organisation President, Adiba M. Raji to present his opening and
welcomes speech. In his welcome address, Adiba M Raji, the EYE President and
EYPDEVP Founder/coordinator stated that, EYE Organisation organized this quiz
as an
annual event which we started last year. He
mentioned that this event is to create a competitive spirit in our young people using
Information and Communication Technology tools to drive. He added that today
event is centered on Information
and Communication Technology. He said, “we are all
aware that Information and Communications Technology is one of the driving
forces of economic and social development, and so we are gathered here today to
show our commitment to bringing the benefits of ICT to all. ICT is enhancing
the delivery of education, healthcare, government and financial services across
the world. We must embrace ICT and educate ourselves on its relevance to our
various fields of endeavors. The global trend has shown that knowledge of ICT
is becoming fundamental and required in order to work effectively in any fields
of human endeavor. For example, with
present of ICT in all fields such as in examinations indicated that students at all level are now
required to be ICT compliant.”
He also reminded the participants and guests, EYE mission and aim towards human and
community development stated that EYE Organisation vision is to
bring development to grassroots while aiming development of the youth through
her empowerment programs and committing the young people of Ebira in community
development exercise to better the grassroots development.
In his
remark, he stated that what we are about to witness today is another milestone
on this project. By God Grace, EYE is promising that next year competition wouldn’t be
conducted in simulation mode rather it will be on real practical mode where all
the participants shall seat behind a system. EYE
Organisation seeks for corporate and individual sponsorship, partnership and
collaboration to make this reality. From the Organisation side, we are
committed and ready at all time to delivery.

in third place position. From the summation of individual performance, Medinat Audu and Andahs Yusuf combined
scores was the highest score and Government
Girls Secondary School Otutu emerged the winning school.
To decide the
third position, the second version of the quiz Question known as DECIDE was projected. In
this case, the tie participants decided by chosen a question and after series
of questions answered, the third place position goes to Balogun Anna.
At the end of
the quiz, Lamidi Abdulrahman Abe
(EYPDEVP Project Manager) who served as the MC during the quiz asked the EYE
Organisation President to come and announce the result. Then he invited the
guests of honor to help and distribute the prizes to the winners. It was
started with presentation of educational materials to CHANGE TEAM and HOPE TEAM
members then follow with the third place medal, second place medal and first
place medal by the guest of honor Alice
James, member of EYE Organisation’s Board of Trustee. The trophy was given
by the EYE President himself to the winning school.
shortly before the
result was announced, the participants were entertained by entertainer, MC Godwin with his music titled “BEAUTIFUL”.
It was a marvelous performance by MC Godwin. Some talented students also
showcase their talent with various talent displayed like dancing, jokes and
music.
At the end of
the competition, Malam Sule Lamidi,
Okehi Community Secondary School, Vice Principal gave the vote of thanks. He
thanked the EYE President, the entire member of the EYE Organisation for the
wonderful concept and this initiative of empowering young people. He also
thanked the guests of honor, the teachers and the host principal for given the
venue. He then thanked the quiz team for aspiring their time organizing the
quiz.
